SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (April 9, 2020) – OESA, together with the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, motor vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, has created “Health and Safety Guidelines for Automotive Suppliers in a Coronavirus Environment.

The guidelines developed and supported collectively by OEMs (except for Tesla) and several large tier one suppliers are designed to help protect the safety of employees and visitors on the premises of supplier facilities, as it relates to the coronavirus. Recommended practices in the document include guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

“The health and safety of OESA members, partners and employees is the highest priority in all that we do. OESA is honored to champion this initiative to help the supplier industry navigate during this unprecedented time,” said Julie A. Fream, president and CEO, OESA. “These guidelines will assist suppliers when they resume production in the post-pandemic environment.”

John Bozzella, Alliance for Automotive Innovation president and CEO said, “Now more than ever, protocols designed to help keep people safe and healthy are crucial to our industry, which is a fundamental part of the economy. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our employees, our customers and the communities where we live and work.”
