WASHINGTON, DC — Alliance for Automotive Innovation today announced Audrey LaForest as the association’s director of communications.
LaForest joins the automotive trade group from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the country’s primary automotive safety regulator, where she was a member of the agency’s media relations team and communicated information to the public on rulemakings, enforcement actions, vehicle safety and consumer-focused campaigns to promote roadway safety.
LaForest said: "This is a crucial and transformative time for the auto industry. I'm thrilled to be joining such a dedicated and talented team during this pivotal chapter, and I look forward to leveraging my experiences at NHTSA and as a reporter to share the industry's efforts as it strives for a cleaner, safer, smarter future."
Prior to NHTSA, LaForest was the chief Washington correspondent for Automotive News, where she covered automotive policy, regulation, vehicle safety and politics across the White House, Congress, EPA, the Departments of Transportation and Energy, and the Federal Trade Commission, among others.
LaForest is a Detroit native and a graduate of Wayne State University.
