Auto Innovators Statement on Colorado Transportation Funding Proposal

Attributable to Auto Innovators President and CEO John Bozzella:

“Auto Innovators commends the Polis Administration and Colorado’s legislative leaders for introducing a transportation funding proposal that will invest more than $5 billion over the next decade to modernize transportation infrastructure investments and enhance mobility in the pursuit of an electrified future.  When Colorado adopted the ZEV (zero emission vehicle) rules with collaboration from the auto industry, we noted that for Colorado to achieve its environmental goals the state would need to implement programs, policies, and funding that support and encourage ZEV adoption.

“SB 260 outlines a comprehensive and sustained commitment to ZEV adoption in Colorado through equity, incentives, fleet electrification, consumer and stakeholder engagement, and expansion of charging and refueling infrastructure. From automakers investing over $250 billion toward electrification by 2023, to our recent recommendations to the Biden Administration to help create a stronger national ZEV market, we remain committed to working with the state and other stakeholders to help realize Colorado’s electrified future.”
