Stacy Balk
Acting Director of the Office of Automation Safety | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
Dr. Stacy Balk joined the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2019. In this time, she has served as both the Chief of the Human Factors and Engineering Integration Division and the Acting Director of the Office of Automation Safety. Dr. Balk has led several efforts surrounding the integration of advanced vehicle technologies and human-machine interaction. She earned her B.S. from the University of Iowa and her M.S. & Ph.D. from Clemson University.
