Allan Swan
Allan Swan leads the battery manufacturing businesses in the United States for Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd., a Panasonic Group Company, a global leader in high-quality lithium-ion batteries. In this role, he oversees all efforts in pursuit of Panasonic’s mission of advancing the electric vehicle (EV) industry and creation of thousands of clean-energy jobs for Americans at sites including the Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA) battery manufacturing facility in Sparks, Nevada, and the new facility in De Soto, Kansas.
Under Allan’s servant leadership, Panasonic Energy has become the leading global supplier of cylindrical lithium-ion batteries, both in scale and technical prowess. Through agility and disruption, his strategic guidance has helped PECNA, which began as a startup within the 100-year-old company, grow to become a world-class smart factory that has scaled to produce over two billion cells annually. Allan’s vision centers on fostering a high-performance culture, scaling production, and ultimately revolutionizing the energy and mobility industries towards a greener and more sustainable future.
Throughout his career, Allan has held senior executive leadership positions in corporate strategy, manufacturing, operations and supply chain at global organizations across the automotive, engineering and aerospace industries.
A champion of climate action, Allan is committed to combating carbon pollution, and serves as a non-executive board member of Carbon Clean, a London-based technology company helping industries achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
Allan holds a master’s degree in Global Supply Chain Management from Southampton University. A lifelong learner, he has also earned additional post-graduate management credentials.
