Alison Pascale

Alison Pascale brings more than 30 years of experience across government, transportation policy, and the automotive industry, with a career spanning senior roles in the legislative and executive branches, as well as the private sector. At MOIA America, an autonomous mobility company within Volkswagen Group, she leads federal, state, and local government affairs and community engagement efforts, helping shape the company’s public policy strategy as autonomous mobility technologies advance toward scaled deployment in the United States.

A respected voice in transportation and autonomous vehicle policy, Pascale works closely with policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to support the safe, transparent, and responsible deployment of autonomous mobility technologies. Her work focuses on advancing policies that strengthen safety, foster innovation, and help build public trust and understanding around autonomous vehicles. She also advises on legislative and regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, and cross-industry collaboration.

Pascale is widely recognized across the mobility and policy sectors for her leadership and expertise. She previously served as Chair of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation’s Technology, Innovation, and Mobility Policy Committee and Chair of the Consumer Technology Association’s Self-Driving Vehicle Working Group. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association (AVIA).

Before joining MOIA America, Pascale led automated vehicle policy efforts for Audi in the United States, supporting both federal and state engagement strategies and advising on broader market-entry considerations related to emerging mobility technologies. Prior to her work in the automotive industry, she held a senior leadership role at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), where she served as Director of Governmental Affairs, Policy, and Strategic Planning. During her tenure, she helped guide agency modernization initiatives, contributed to the development of federal guidance on highly automated vehicles, strengthened vehicle safety and recall processes, and oversaw NHTSA’s engagement with Congress.

Earlier in her career, Pascale served as a senior advisor to U.S. Senator Carl Levin, held positions in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Government Accountability Office, and was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow.

She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in International Studies and International Relations from American University.
