Steve Sisneros

Steve Sisneros is a seasoned political strategist and leader in integrated advocacy campaigns. He joined Auto Innovators as Chief External Affairs Officer in 2024 and leads the association’s paid media, mobilization, research, and political strategy to support AAI’s advocacy efforts.
He joined Auto Innovators from the American Petroleum Institute (API) where he served as Vice President of External Mobilization, leading efforts to expand a national network of industry advocates and advancing pro-energy policies.
Before joining API, Steve spent two election cycles at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) as Director of Campaigns and Voter Contact, and in 2016 as National Field Director. In these roles, he honed his expertise in mobilization tactics, digital advertising, direct mail, print and linear advertising. As a key architect behind the team that executed the Democratic strategy to retake the House majority in 2018, he emerged as one of today’s top strategists in advocacy mobilization.
Steve’s career spans a breadth of work across federal, state, and local campaigns—including contributions to the 2020 Biden Presidential campaign in Florida, the 2014 Ohio Democratic coordinated campaign, President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, Senator Reid’s 2010 re-election campaign, and issue advocacy efforts for both the DNC in 2009 and Organizing for Action in 2013. He also played a role during the Nevada legislative sessions in 2009 and 2013.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a proud New Mexican, he now resides in Virginia with his wife and their three children.
