Paul Hernley is an EV Battery Sustainability & Recycling Technical Specialist at General Motors, where he focuses on the EV battery ecosystem, covering circularity, carbon footprint, regulatory compliance, and end-of-life battery management. His work supports GM’s efforts to better understand battery materials, manufacturing and supply chain impacts, and practical pathways for responsibly managing batteries after vehicle use. Paul collaborates with policy, legal, and engineering colleagues, as well as external partners, to help advance battery sustainability, recycling, and end-of-life management at GM and across the industry.
